Here is a selection of custom websites that I have designed and developed from scratch. There are no templates in sight! Most sites showcased below use my bespoke Content Management System (CMS), Fast Edit, to enable the owners to update their own content.
I've worked with sports clubs, conventions, charitable organisations, schools, artists and all sorts of other small-medium businesses, both locally and internationally. If you'd like to work with me too, why not get in touch.
Project Information
A light and lean website for Ashgate Croft Special School, that is responsive to all screen sizes and devices. The site is driven by PHP, using flat text files to store content. School events are managed via Fast Cal, and image galleries are optimised on-the-fly for speed of delivery.

A responsive, mobile-first website for Windmill Hill Primary School, designed to be fast and lean (around 200kb on small screen devices), for the comfort of all users. The site is database-free with content stored in text files instead. Automatic image optimisation yields faster pages.

A highly performant (less than 200kb on small screen devices), responsive, mobile-first website for William Levick Primary School. The site is primarily PHP driven using flat text files instead of a database, and uses automated image resize and optimisation scripts to reduce load times.
DHFS (Mobile News Portal)
Project Information
A lightweight, responsive, "mobile-friendly" website for Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School (DHFS) that is automatically updated via a series of RSS feeds. Parents, students and staff can now access the most important news and school information when on the move!

The design brief for the HMS Garden Design website was for a sleek, fuss-free layout (with none of the twee flourishes favoured by some gardening websites), that delivers a clear, direct message to visitors. I also redesigned the logo and provided letter-headed paper layouts.

A promotional website for Fast Edit (CMS), with downloads, and auto-resetting demo platforms for the scripts available there. This highly optimised site is made with HTML5/CSS3, and boasts a responsive/ adaptive layout that flows to fit all screens. A 5-star rating is also included.

Similar to the Fast Edit sister-site, Fast Apps is a website platform designed to showcase the free scripts available there. This HTML5/CSS3 site is also highly optimised, and is built to be responsive/ adaptive for maximum compatibility and accessibility on any size device or screen.
DHFS (Digital Signage)
Project Information
Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School (DHFS) displays school news on several large HD signage screens around their school grounds. I designed a web-based system that incorporates Fast Feed and takes excerpts of news, and random loading images, from the main school website.
Project Information
An American organisation that celebrates an 80s cartoon and toy line from Hasbro. They host an annual convention so the website contains event registration and a busy fan forum, as well as multi-media galleries and members-only content. The banner also contains hidden surprises!
Project Information
The Focus on Function website is small and fast, with minimal JavaScript (no dependencies), CSS3 animations, and deferred image loading to improve speed. Consequently, this responsive website enjoys ½ second page loads, and comes in at around 100kb (Gzip) on mobile.
